Children’s day is arriving and all of us are busy deciding the celebration plans and the gifts for the precious kiddos. We have been celebrating this International children’s day for many many years. This date, 14th November has some fond memories in everyone’s mind. And then we regret growing up. Those were the days when our only stress was about having good friends and studying well. But at last, when we are not the kids anymore, we can still enjoy those childhood fantasies.
Everyone must have expected some kind of special gifts in their childhood. But everyone could not have had the access to those special desired gifts. Then why not gift those desires to the children of this generation? Children’s day celebration should start from home, and it shouldn’t be celebrated just as a school event. You have to forget your adulthood and mingle with them as the kids. Forget your strict side and bring out the child inside you.
Here are few ideas to celebrate this special day and Top 10 Gifts For This Children’s Day.
1) Your Time
Your time is the most precious gift to your child. Every kid expects to get special time from its parents. And if both the parents are working then this special time becomes a desire for that little angel. Bring out some time from your busy schedule and spare it only with your child. Do what he or she loves to do. Play together, roam around together, even a nice walk around a garden would make a huge difference.
2) Farm Tour / Agro Tourism
Take your child to some farmer’s den nearby your city. Let him/her enjoy real farming and cultivation. Nowadays many people are coming up with the agro-tourism resorts, where your child can experience real farms, can eat the fresh produce of those farms. We had celebrated my daughter’s birthday at an agro farm where my daughter had plucked cucumbers and tomatoes for herself. We cut them and ate them. They were so fresh that we could make the difference between the farm fresh veggies and the ones we get in the market. For the kids staying in the cities, this is truly a different experience than the gadgets. Let them enjoy in the lap of The Mother Nature.
3) Get Together
You can also plan a family get-together where all your close relatives and kids would come. This is the era of nuclear families. And kids miss their cousins, uncle-aunties and their grandparents. Planning a family get-together will give a different kind of happiness to your children. And this day will make golden memories for everyone.
4) Cook Together
How about cooking with the little masterchefs? If they are of an appropriate age of cooking (ideally 7-15 years of age) then you can plan a cooking date. If the kids are little younger (4-7 years of age) you can opt for no flame cooking like sandwiches, bhel, chaats etc. Try to cook their favorite dish together and appreciate them for making delicious dishes. Cook Together, Eat Together, Enjoy Together!!!
5) Give Them Chocolates and Sweets
Kids just love to eat chocolates. Usually, we tend to avoid giving them chocolates and sweets. But this is the day when they deserve a big bar of chocolate for sure. Let them have what they love the most. Have that big bar of Cadbury Dairy Milk (I am sure, even you love to have it 😀 ). Give the kiddo an individual bar, or just share a single bar among you. Don’t forget that chocolates create happy moments. So Kuch meetha Ho Jaaye?
In fact, a Cadbury Dairy milk makes great combo along with other gifts. So whatever the gift is, you can add a sweet touch of your favorite Cadbury Dairy Milk.
Have a bite of happiness and togetherness!
6) Gift Them Toys
Kids love toys the most. Toys give them immense happiness. Just try and find out what kind of toys do they love, and gift them that very own happiness. Toys can be of any type. Go for the age-specific ones and gift those surprise moments.
7) Gift Them Beautiful Memories
Gift them a photo frame, empty or filled with your special memories with the kid. They love such gestures and they even love to save these memories. You can also make a collage of many photographs of your family members, kids’ close friends or of the random pictures. Pictures truly nourish the childhood.
8) Watch Movies Together
If kids are little older, you can plan to watch a movie together in theatre. Select a movie for kids’ genre. Laugh with them and show that you really enjoy their kind of movie.
9) A Fine Dine is really fine
Visit an age-appropriate joint that serves delicious and attractive dishes. Kids love to have colorful dishes. Make sure the place is kids friendly. Avoid a bar kind of restaurant. If not avoidable then avoid having drinks in front of the kids. It gives a different impact on the kids’mind. Many restaurants allow the kids to cook in their kitchen. They can make their own pizza and select their favorite toppings. They can make their own cupcakes.
10) Visit an Orphanage or Old Age Home
You can opt to celebrate this day along with other kids who don’t really get any happiness of life. Gift them a day full of happiness and your child will definitely cherish the memories of this day spent with the needy ones.
Not only an orphanage, but old age homes have more needy people. These old people miss their grandchildren. Old age is another childhood when the old people become dependent for care and joy of life. Gifting them a day of joy will surely make a difference in your kids’ life.
In all these ideas I have mentioned to do things together because togetherness is really very important. Togetherness keeps the kids away from loneliness and it gives a positive impression to the kids.
